‘Tis the Season: Holiday!

Holiday time! Off to celebrate a friend’s birthday! Whoop Whoop…

But before any celebration can take place, one must first pack…ewww the worse part of going on holiday. Why do I hate this part so much?! Hmmm! The problem isn’t the fact that I don’t know what to pack (or even over-pack like most people) I’m actually quite organised, I usually prepare my outfits (day, evening and beachwear) at least a week before travelling, the problem is I don’t enjoy physically putting the clothes into the case. Does anyone else have this problem?! So random!

Anyhow with all my clothes safely packed in my suitcase I can now go off and enjoy my first ever all-inclusive holiday to Turkey! #SoExcited

Lushness of the Week: Back in Stock!

Yassss to Topshop…y’all don’t know how happy I am for this sleeveless jacket right now. I saw this jacket back in August 2014 and wanted it for my birthday celebrations but to my horror when I was ready to purchase it, there was only one left which was on the mannequin…and wait for the worse part, it wasn’t even in my size (real tears).

Anyway let’s forget the past and fast-forward to February 2015…imagine my excitement when I pop into Topshop last week and spotted the exact jacket I wanted back in summer (tears of joy).

Let’s give Topshop a high-five for restocking this lushness of a jacket. #Happy!

National Luxury & Lifestyle Awards 2014 – Winners Party

I was recently invited to the National Luxury & Lifestyle Awards (NLLA) which took place at the Club No.41 Mayfair. The NLLA  ceremony held by London’s number one luxury and lifestyle magazine, Chelsea Monthly celebrates the best luxury products, brands and services. The ceremony was hosted by television presenter Louise Gookey and televised for the Luxury Show on Sky 192. The event was a fabulous affair with Mojitos and Champagne being the choice of drink throughout the evening.

Luxury lives in the finer details – with the dress code being luxury & stylish smart casual, I opted for a simple black dress and simple gold pointed heels.

#MeettheMaker – Ilene Steele Jewellery

I recently received an invite along with a number of other bloggers to go behind the scenes and meet the maker of the Ilene Steele Jewellery and what a wonderful experience  it was. Both the jewellery and the maker are fab! Check out the equipment used to make the fabulous jewellery.

Ilene Steele Jewellery comprises a range of rings using a unique design method that positions the stones so that they are angled towards the wearer, in a setting that looks beautiful from all angles.

On the night Ilene took us through the latest collection, ‘The Wave Collection’ which is a collection inspired by the excitement and turbulence of life; finding synergy between the shifting of ocean tides, currents and waves with the disorder and extremities of human existence.

The collection is beautiful, my favourite piece is this simple necklace with a bold stone. This is a perfect piece of jewellery that will go with any outfit. Simple and classy!

Here are a few other pieces which would go perfect with any outfit but I especially love the dressed down look.

Ilene Steele Jewellery is not about trends, it’s about style so if you like being your own person this is the perfect choice for you. The collection can be found at Wolf & Badger https://www.wolfandbadger.com/shop/designers/ilene-steele-jewellery/

Festival season is here…

I love experiencing new things…so you can imagine my excitement at going to my first festival. With this comes the responsibility of knowing what to wear. A festival is an all day thing so being comfortable has to be a priority. Being in the UK the weather is unpredictable therefore an outfit that can survive all climates will also need to be taken into consideration. Although being comfortable should be priority, one should also make an effort to look good. Just because you’re at a festival doesn’t mean you have to pretend you got ready in a tent. Festival style is about having some fun!

This is what I decided to go for:

  1. A hat is perfect if you don’t have an umbrella and there’s a bit of drizzle. I went for a beloved bowler hat from Topshop which I purchased last years.
  2. Layers: make sure you have a few light layers to survive the expected wind, rain and sunny spells. A shirt you can easily take off and wrap round your waist is a great choice to keep warm in or cool down when taken off, the taking off part is for when the sun comes out.
  3. Backpack: who wants to lug a heavy one shoulder bag around with them all day. A rucksack is an easy, convenient way of transporting all essential items that would be needed on the day.
  4. Flats: no need for heels as you will be on your feet all day! Plimsolls, trainers or wellies are the perfect choice.

Kate Moss for Topshop

Kate Moss is back with her first Topshop collection in 4 years and I was there to witness the craziness that went down on launch day, I’m pretty sure the collection sold out within minutes.

I couldn’t say wholeheartedly that I loved the collection as some of the pieces appeared to be a little dated with Kate probably wearing the pieces when she did her last collection …(eeek sorry KateMoss/Topshop lovers). However, I don’t want to be a complete debbie downer as I did see a couple of show-stopping pieces, like this sequin dress.                                                          20140429_184539

You can definitely see the influence of Kate Moss in the collection, it has that festival/holiday/party vibe going on.

Chic and Seek…

***New shop alert***

Ladies you need to check out new store Chic & Seek on Portland Road (you heard it here first).

What a lush evening I had last night at the fabulous Chic & Seek’s grand opening on Portland Road. Lush canapes and champagne flowing all evening but spotting some lush ‘new’ clothes for my wardrobe was what got me super excited! Yep I will be popping back once payday arrives. The store is filled with luxury brands at affordable prices…did you hear me???…LUXURY BRANDS AT AFFORDABLE PRICES!!

The store has a uniqueness about it, they work with some of London’s chicest women who recycle their wardrobes through Chic & Seek. The company hand-selects every item allowing the customer to find fabulous luxury for fantastic value with the end result for the customer to not only feel great about their unique purchase but to know they have given something a second life.

Rewind to the start of the evening…I didn’t really know what to expect from the evening. I was greeted with this vintage car which was directly outside the store and gave an unexpected feel of what could be expected within the store itself. 20140312_184755

Once inside I was given a chilled glass of champagne alongside some lush canapes. 20140312_190057

…and then it was all about the clothes….ooooh I spotted so much lushness *eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store*

I spy with my little eye…a Diane Von Furstenberg leather jacket with studs, I need this in my life (we all know that a leather jacket is a must-have piece in anyone’s wardrobe and this one is well…FABULOUS). 20140312_185211

Check out some of the other lushness what you can expect in the store…from accessories to jackets to shoes to bags there is something for everyone. Fabulous darling…!
