‘Tis the Season: Holiday!

Holiday time! Off to celebrate a friend’s birthday! Whoop Whoop…

But before any celebration can take place, one must first pack…ewww the worse part of going on holiday. Why do I hate this part so much?! Hmmm! The problem isn’t the fact that I don’t know what to pack (or even over-pack like most people) I’m actually quite organised, I usually prepare my outfits (day, evening and beachwear) at least a week before travelling, the problem is I don’t enjoy physically putting the clothes into the case. Does anyone else have this problem?! So random!

Anyhow with all my clothes safely packed in my suitcase I can now go off and enjoy my first ever all-inclusive holiday to Turkey! #SoExcited

My London Fashion Week…

My ‘Fashion’ week started on Thursday 11th September at the GQ style night on Carnaby Street.

The next of couple of days consisted of doing a bit of people watching (one of my favourite things to do). I love people watching not just for fashion week but all year round but there is something about Somerset House during fashion week that makes people watching even more enjoyable (oh that sounds somewhat creepy doesn’t it?!).

Monday…I attended the BloggersLoveLFW event which took place at the Penthouse, Leicester square! It was a fantastic evening as I got to meet some fabulous new brands as well as take home loads of wonderful goodies on offer which I have worn throughout the week.

and this necklace by Nadia Minkoff

Tuesday was rest day from London Fashion Week events but the topic was still on fashion. I went to the Google offices to talk how google can help your eCommerce business within the fashion industry. This event was organised by the guys from Fashion Forum LDN

Hump day Wednesday, I was invited to an exclusive party organised by French Connection with Troy the Magician being the guest of honour The evening was fabulous and consisted of champagne, loads of sweet treats and a DJ playing the finest tunes with myself and a few of the other guests strutting our stuff to Candy by Cameo…check out the song here (its hard not to dance when this song comes on…ha).

On to Thursday….ah Thursday was a long but enjoyable day. I attended a total of five events on this day, some I was invited to and some I randomly stumbled upon.

First up was breakfast at Mango talking careers and viewing the latest collection.

For me fashion is more than how we look, I love hearing the story behind the brand. So you can imagine my excitement when I was invited to watch a presentation on the current collaboration G-Star Raw has with Pharrell Williams. A collaboration in which Pharrell himself initiated (this man does not only look great at 41 but is also a genius).  The collaboration ‘Raw for the Oceans’…wait for it….Denim made from recycled plastic bottles. Click here to see what it is all about! What a fab idea?!

After that it was off to Joy Everley – Fine Jewellers 16th Birthday where I enjoyed cocktails and cupcakes. The jewellery range is inspired from the creators’ own desire to wear unusual, fresh and enhancing jewellery design incorporating precious metals and stones. Absolutely loved the collection!

Next I slipped into an art gallary!

Final event the day ended with a trip to the House of Fraser beauty event, as well as discounts on various beauty products the evening also consisted of cocktails and champagne as well as Music from Arize, an up and coming girl band who has recently appeared on the xfactor.

Friday….I enjoyed a Q&A session with Jasmine Guinness, model turned designer answered an arrany questions including ‘what is your style day-to-day?’ Jasmine said “Jeans and trainers due to working in a toy shop and in the evening I like dressing up in a nice dress”. Jasmine also said she likes to mix high street with designer as it is always good to mix things up.

Sunday…and that is a wrap, well until next week that is! But for now I’ll be in bed catching up on my shows. #GoodStuff

Festival season is here…

I love experiencing new things…so you can imagine my excitement at going to my first festival. With this comes the responsibility of knowing what to wear. A festival is an all day thing so being comfortable has to be a priority. Being in the UK the weather is unpredictable therefore an outfit that can survive all climates will also need to be taken into consideration. Although being comfortable should be priority, one should also make an effort to look good. Just because you’re at a festival doesn’t mean you have to pretend you got ready in a tent. Festival style is about having some fun!

This is what I decided to go for:

  1. A hat is perfect if you don’t have an umbrella and there’s a bit of drizzle. I went for a beloved bowler hat from Topshop which I purchased last years.
  2. Layers: make sure you have a few light layers to survive the expected wind, rain and sunny spells. A shirt you can easily take off and wrap round your waist is a great choice to keep warm in or cool down when taken off, the taking off part is for when the sun comes out.
  3. Backpack: who wants to lug a heavy one shoulder bag around with them all day. A rucksack is an easy, convenient way of transporting all essential items that would be needed on the day.
  4. Flats: no need for heels as you will be on your feet all day! Plimsolls, trainers or wellies are the perfect choice.

Kate Moss for Topshop

Kate Moss is back with her first Topshop collection in 4 years and I was there to witness the craziness that went down on launch day, I’m pretty sure the collection sold out within minutes.

I couldn’t say wholeheartedly that I loved the collection as some of the pieces appeared to be a little dated with Kate probably wearing the pieces when she did her last collection …(eeek sorry KateMoss/Topshop lovers). However, I don’t want to be a complete debbie downer as I did see a couple of show-stopping pieces, like this sequin dress.                                                          20140429_184539

20140429_183159 20140429_183602 20140429_183717  20140429_183826 20140429_183934 20140429_184108 20140429_184155 20140429_184504  20140429_184529  20140429_183753

You can definitely see the influence of Kate Moss in the collection, it has that festival/holiday/party vibe going on.

All White…

I love me some colour but I also love simplicity!

It may be a little premature to take on summer’s biggest colour trend in full force whilst the ground itself has potential to be white at any given moment (brrrr) but start as you mean to go on. ! I love the all-white trend even in winter. One does not have to wait until spring to get that refreshing clean cut look. Enjoy the calmness white brings

Absolutely love this Armani dress.
