I’m busy I’m washing my hair: Roots and Rituals

Washing my hair is an all day situation, even when going to the hairdressers it’s at least a 3 hour situation. So if I say I’m washing my hair, I’m doing exactly that.

15:30 I’ve had this Roots and Rituals heated head towel for a while now but I had to wait until the right time to use it. And the right time being just before I relax my hair. I felt this would be a good time for me just case it doesn’t go according to plan…ha. This is a big thing for me as I simply do not wash my hair myself due to it not having the same look and feel as it would if I went to the hairdressers. But I want to relax my hair less with eventually going natural…eeekkk. My hair has had a few problems in recent months with it breaking and being a little dry, with this I’ve been on the lookout for various products to help reform it to its natural state. I’m always up for trying something new, so here goes nothing.

The time is now 19:20…and I’m still yet to wash my hair, I mentioned about washing my hair 4 hours but to be fair to me I’ve been charging the power battery, I’m sure its charged enough (although the green light is yet to indicate that it is fully charge) but I think I’m just being a bit more conscious than I would usually be as I want to get it right or I might be that I’m trying to avoid the situation ha. Eeeekkk (I’m actually scared… it’s crazy because washing your hair is such a basic thing to do in life, so why am I so scared?!) I think the scaredness comes from the aftermath of washing my hair…how will my hair look once its been dried?! Will it look as good as if I’ve been to hairdressers…hmmm.

19:26 The battery pack in now connected to the heated towel (it takes 12 minutes to heat)…time to wash my hair, I’ll be using this 1-2 minute leave on Roots and Rituals Conditioner after shampooing.

19:53 Now for the heated head towel along with this coconut oil from Holland and Barrett which was recommended by a friend some months ago, I’ve been using it as my daily moisturizer as well.

Ooooh the towel on my head is feeling lush, I somewhat feel like I’m at the hairdressers getting my monthly hair (steam) treatment. This lushness is very much needed after a busy weekend.

20:33 Time for the towel to come off and rinse my hair. (I’ve just gone through the process on the Roots and Rituals website, I think I did some of the steps round the wrong way, oh well I was following the process of how my hairdresser would do my hair treatment). And I think that’s the point, with such things its about doing YOU!

20:40 This is the hard bit (and my issue of not wanting to wash my hair myself in the first)…the drying process.

21:15 and done…I think, eeeekk!

Roots and Rituals heated head towel verdict: the towel experience was lush and one I want to enjoy again but the only way for me to enjoy it is to continue to wash my hair myself…hmmm, I guess I will try again in 8 weeks just before my relaxer. Once I get comfortable with the process I will wash my hair 2 weeks before the relaxer and so on.

Hair Verdict: My hair feels soft but I guess time will tell as to whether the treatment has worked.

21:20 Time to wrap my hair and get ready for a new week!

I’m washing my hair: Roots and Rituals

Reading the instructions for this Roots and Rituals heated head towel so I can finally try it out. Eeeekkk I’m about to wash my frigging hair myself, those who know me, know I’m not about that life. Ha! I’m a straight up hairdressers type of chick, so this is big for me y’all. Like seriously I haven’t washed my hair myself for about 10 years. Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how I get on (hair is due for relax next weekend so if it looks whack I only have a week of looking whack). #IGotThis

She was definitely living that life: Turkey!

Traveling is a beautiful thing…

I had the most amazing time in Turkey (one of my best holidays with lush new memories).

I experienced my first ever all inclusive holiday at a fab hotel. I’ve always been a little nervous about doing an all inclusive mainly because my perception as been that you are there to totally relax, leaving not much room to explore the country (I enjoy exploring new places, that is what I enjoy the most about going on holiday). But I got to do both, I was able to relax (in the spa, on the beach and in the bar enjoying cocktails…ha I went through the whole cocktail list) as well as enjoy a couple of day trips (a boat cruise and a trip to Kos, Greece) without feeling guilty that I was wasting the all inclusive opportunity as the times of the trips allowed me to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel.

For anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable holiday, I totally recommend this adult only Thor Luxury Hotel and Spa. The hotel is a little away from Bodrum centre (about a 20 min taxi ride at 40-50TL) but staying in a lush hotel will always beat the location for me. Ah the lushness of the hotel (and staff) totally made the holiday that more special. Eeeekkk I already want to go back (I’m thinking to revisit towards the end of the year, ha)!

The pictures on the website were stunning but in real life it was even more stunning, my friend and I (‘I’ meaning I had to persuade my friend just a little…ha) definitely made the right choice.

I’m not totally where I thought I would be at this stage in my life, but being able to travel always makes me appreciate what I do have and what I’ve achieved. #Blessed

‘Tis the Season: Holiday!

Holiday time! Off to celebrate a friend’s birthday! Whoop Whoop…

But before any celebration can take place, one must first pack…ewww the worse part of going on holiday. Why do I hate this part so much?! Hmmm! The problem isn’t the fact that I don’t know what to pack (or even over-pack like most people) I’m actually quite organised, I usually prepare my outfits (day, evening and beachwear) at least a week before travelling, the problem is I don’t enjoy physically putting the clothes into the case. Does anyone else have this problem?! So random!

Anyhow with all my clothes safely packed in my suitcase I can now go off and enjoy my first ever all-inclusive holiday to Turkey! #SoExcited

#Throwback Thursday: Plateau Restaurant

I love eating out and discovering new restaurants, so I want to dedicate a weekly throwback section to the many restaurants I have visited.

Here goes nothing, eeeekkkk…!

Let me take it back to a few months ago when my friends and I took a trip to Plateau, Canary Wharf for a lush meal. Both the food and service were top notch, and to top it off the stylish, futuristic restaurant offered spectacular  views of the surrounding cityscape which made all the more memorable.

We booked our delicious 3 course meal including a glass of sparkling wine via To start with a went for a tea smoked mackerel, oyster mayonnaise, fennel salad; for the main I had a slow cooked haddock, lemon and thyme gnocchi, wild mushrooms, mushroom purée (I don’t usually do mushroom, but it wasn’t over-powering so I quite enjoyed it); and then for the dessert I went a baked apple and cinnamon ice cream alaska, rum flambe which lit up as it was presented to me. #Lushness

I highly recommend this restaurant for top notch food at affordable prices.

Try Something New…

You know when you pick something up my mistake…but it turns out to be a yummy mistake, well I experienced exactly that on Wednesday. I was in a rush getting my lunch…and all I see is Jerk (which took me to the taste of my favourite Caribbean takeaway shop) so I pick it up and before I realised the full content on the sandwich (sweet and spicy jerk ham, egg and pineapple…it was the egg that I wasn’t too sure about) I had already paid and left the store.  I thought to myself oh well what’s the worse that could happen…?! If anything it fits well within my ‘try something new challenge’. So I opened up the sandwich and discovered something wonderful, the flavours were lush. It was that type of lushness where you can’t stop eating but you don’t want it to finish either. I highly recommend this Jamie Oliver sandwich. #OneLove

What did you try this week?

Lushness of Week: LipGlam

I’m definitely that chick who needs to wear a lip balm and apply it several times throughout the day to keep my lips looking and feeling smooth. Vaseline has been my number one choice for many years but having heard so much about LipGlam and spotting it at a recent event I decided to give this new balm a try.

YES to this natural lip balm, absolutely loving the way my lips are looking and feeling lush emoji_1F48B with only  needing to apply the balm a couple times a day. #GetInvolved
